June
2012
Got home June 2nd. It is always good to be home. The house was in amazingly good
shape. The yard was a little dry
and the bushes needed trimming.
The decks needed cleaning.
After a few phone calls most everything was taken care of. We expected JasonÕ family from Texas June
21st. We were able to get everything done. Had the decks and the roof cleaned, carpet cleaned, bushes
trimmed, windows cleaned and got back on the cleaning ladyÕs schedule. DianeÕs car needed a new battery and
the scooter batteries needed charging.
The standby generator battery and oil were in good shape.
Tinker was glad to be home.
A little of this and a little of that and we were
back in business and ready for company and watching swimming meets. The
Grandchildren, ages 6 & 9, had fun and got better with each meet.
I celebrated my 65th birthday with a lovely evening with
Diane at SullivanÕs Steak House.
We had a great evening and the food was superb. We had a gift card from my local State
Farm agent to help defray the cost.
Thanks again Mike! I used
to think 65 was old. Now I know it
is!
June the 16th we had an open house
cocktail party for the neighborhood.
We had about 16 people show up and it was great to catch up with the
neighbors after being gone for the winter. We of course only talked about the ones who did not
come. We are very fortunate to
have such good neighbors and we enjoyed seeing them all again.
June 23rd.
To celebrate having JasonÕs Family home we had a
back yard cookout. The weather was
perfect and all of the relatives were able to come. We also had seven dogs.
For the past couple of years we have wanted a family
portrait on the bridge at Pioneer Park.
It is just something that we have always wanted. When Jason arrived we took
advantage. Several poses and shots
were taken to try to get the perfect one.
It was fun. Thanks again to
my family for indulging me.
That evening we went to the cookout and Fireworks at
the Country Club. While we didnÕt
win the ball drop from the helicopter, the food and the fireworks were
outstanding. Good to be with
Family. Time goes so quickly when
you are having fun. We were able
to get together at StephanieÕs pool before Jason left on his mission trip to
Chicago. He spent a week with his
youth group from Texas.
